What To Expect
On this tour, we will take you to the mango capital of Bangladesh – Nawabganj, to photograph the mango activities on its numerous orchards and bazaars. You’ll photograph the collecting, sorting weighting mango in the orchards, and transporting them on bicycles on a special way, which is very photogenic. Also you will visit the mango bazaars where buyers from all over the country gather, and eighty percent of country’s mangoes are sold from. We’ll also take you to visit some amazing archeological sites of Gaud, the ancient capital of the greater Bengal located on the border of Bangladesh and India, and the beautiful temples and places of Puthia and Natore.

This tour could be in best use at May to July when it is the full mango season, and the whole Rajshahi Division is full with the fragrance of ripen mango.

Tour is not available to start on Saturday and Sunday, as Saturday is the off day for 769 Dhumketue Express and Tuesday is off for 760 Padma Express.

1st class train ticket depends on availability. We’ll try our best to get first class tickets for you. But if that is not possible you will have a reserved seat on 2nd class. Tuk – Tuk will be used as local transport inside Rajshahi city.

Dhaka - Rajshahi by Train

Pick up from hotel at 5.30 AM, and transfer to Railway Station, and take 769 Dhumketue Express at 6.15 AM to Rajshahi. Upon arrival Rajshaji around noon then transfer to Hotel. After check-in and freshen up have lunch, and then visit Varendra Research Museum, Which is the oldest museum in the country rich in its collection of archeological artifacts. Enjoy boat ride at river Padma (Ganges) in the late afternoon and if time permits pay a visit to a char and see people’s life style in a rural village. On the way back enjoy a beautiful sunset.
Overnight at Rajshahi.

Nawabganj Mango Orchards and Gaud

After breakfast drive to Kansat in Nawabganj (78 km, 2 hrs). Visit some different mango gardens and bazaars to photograph mango activities.
Drive to Chotto Sonamasjid (20 min) and visit some of the best archeological sites of ancient capital from 15th century Gaud as long as time permits. Then drive back to Rajshahi by late afternoon (93 km, 2.5hrs).
Overnight at Rajshahi.

Temples and Palaces of Puthia and Natore

After breakfast drive to Natore (45 km. 01hr). Visit the beautiful palace of Rani Bhabani which was built during the colonial period. Later drive to Puthia Temple City (22 km, 30mins) and visit few beautiful terracotta temples and Palace. Drive to hotel at Rajshahi (45 mins), freshen up, and after lunch, check –out and transfer to the Railway station.
Return to Dhaka on 760 Padma Express leaving at 16.00 PM. Upon arrival Dhaka around 21.50PM, End of the tour.
