What To Expect
This tour is an opportunity for you to observe and understand the lifestyle of the Bangladeshi Hill Tribes. There are 36 individual Ethnic Communities living in Bangladesh. Twelve of these live in the Hill Districts of Rangamati , Bandarban , Khagrachori, and most of them are descendants of Arakan from Burma, who came here hundreds of years ago to start settlements. On this busy and interesting itinerary you will visit CHAKMA, MARMA, TRIPURA, BAWM, LUSAI and other communities. A lot can be learned from visiting the villages in this remote area, and it is very interesting to see the lifestyle of the people.
We will board a boat to see the Ship breaking yard from the sea, as this is technically legal and is safe. As these yards are privately owned, there is no permission to enter. We will go into a nearby 7th-century Buddhist monastery, which makes for another magnificent opportunity for learning about Buddhism in Bengal, and about the Pala Dynasty. You will also be visiting early morning river port and fish markets.
